WhatsApp has now begun rolling out the below features to its Android and iOS apps.
The first of them is emoji reactions.
Users can react to a message instead of having to post multiple replies about what they think. Hopefully, declittering group chats a little.
The reactions that can be used are:
Thumbs up👍, Red Heart❤️, Face with Tears of Joy😂, Face with Open Mouth😮, Crying Face😢, and Folded Hands🙏.
It has also increased the number of group members that you can have in a group to up to 512 people. This is double the previous limit.
The most exciting feature for me is the ability to send files up to 2GB in size now instead of the 100MB limit they used to have.
This is extremely useful for users who need to send larger video files to each other. In their blog post, they say “we think will be helpful for collaboration among small businesses and school groups. We recommend using WiFi for larger files and we’ll display a counter while uploading or downloading to let you know how long your transfer will take.”
